Occupational, environmental health

Occupational health or environmental health is an area dedicated and concerned with protecting the safety and health of the people who are engaged in various fields of employment. It is an interdisciplinary field that covers a wide range of subjects from public health and hygiene to labor law.

The International Occupational Hygiene Association is in simple terms the ability of recognizing, evaluating and anticipating various hazards that might occur in the work environment. These are mainly done as a means of increasing safety amongst workers.

The website initiated by Long Island Occupational and Environmental Health Center is dedicated to reduce the hazards in the different industries. Long Island Occupational and Environmental Health Center (LIOEHC), is one of the NYS Department of Health (DOH) Occupational Health Clinics (OHC). Stony Brook Medical and University have been doing extensive research on the subject.
